Herbert Nkabiti's proposed fight against South African, Masande Kakaza, has been called off, according to the local boxer's manager, Larona Francis. Kakaza is reported to have changed his mind about facing the Botswana boxer, fearing he could struggle to get fights in the future should he lose.

"His promoter has told us that Kakaza has decided against fighting Herbert because he was worried a TKO could jeopardize his chances of securing other fights in the future," Francis told Mmegi Sport. Nkabiti was scheduled to meet Kakaza in East London this weekend as he (Nkabiti) prepares for a title bout later in the year.

This is not the first time that an opponent avoided meeting the 29-year-old former Botswana Defence Force Boxing club member. Last year another South African boxer disappeared after agreeing to a bout with Nkabiti.
