Niyonzima still hopesto move abroad

BDF XI's burly goalkeeper, Khalid Niyonzima says he is still hopeful of turning professional abroad. The Burundian has been consistent for Matebele this season and is optimistic about joining the paid ranks outside the country.

Niyonzima believes he can win the be MOBILE Premier League title after re-uniting with his former mentor Stanley Mwaanga at BDF XI this season. He feels winning the title will enrich his profile and help him move abroad. He told Mmegi Sport that he is enjoying his stay at the SSKB which has made his job easier this season.

In his 10 league games this season, Niyonzima has kept five clean sheets and conceded only six goals.  "Things are different here at BDF XI. They are well organised and as a player, you have no reason to perform badly because everything is taken care of. The players are disciplined and management is supportive. This allows one to stay focused on his game. There is also a bigger challenge here than at Prisons XI because BDF XI is an ambitious club," Niyomzima says.
