Defender Joseph Waitse is suspected to have broken an arm while eight players were treated for minor injuries at the Selebi-Phikwe Hospital. All the players were discharged on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred two hours before the 7pm kick-off. The match was ultimately called off.

Nico spokesman Eitlhomilwe Raditshego said the players were on their way to the stadium after the last training session before the match. He said the accident happened when a truck crossed into the path of the Nico minibus. The truck smashed into the minibus and injured the players. Raditshego said some of the players complained of chest pains, bruises and shock.
