Zebras' assistant coach Kenneth Mogae has been appointed Nico United coach after the be MOBILE Premier League outfit parted ways with Elijah Chikwanda last week.

Nico spokesperson Kgakgamatso Moreetsi told Mmegi Sport that they decided to fire Chikwanda because results where not forthcoming.

Nico ended the 2012/2013 season in second position, a first achievement for the side. But the team has now become a shadow of its former self. Moreetsi said they realised that Chikwanda and the players were no longer in good terms.  He added that the players were no longer taking instructions from the coach. Chikwanda was the first mentor at Nico to stay for three seasons and assisted the side to have a good run last season. He was brought to the side to replace Wilfred Khumalo who had a shot stay at the club. Moreetsi said the leadership of the club decided to appoint Mogae because he was available and that he always attends Nico matches. He said that the coach would be with them until the end of the first round of the league and that is when they could discuss the way forward.
