Ngele set for Rollers swansong

Platinum Stars' bound Mogakolodi 'Tsotso' Ngele is likely to play his last match for Township Rollers this Sunday when they take on ECCO City Greens in the much-anticipated Mascom Top 8 final billed for the UB Stadium in Gaborone. Ngele recently signed a contract with the South African Premiership side. He is the current leading goal-scorer in the competition with six goals.

Rollers managing director, Somerset Gobuiwang was yesterday cagey when asked about the availability of the player in the final. He did, however, mention that they will arrange for his availability if the technical team feels he is needed on Sunday.  He said they had agreed with Platinum Stars that the player would be released after the Mascom Top 8 final.  Ngele's availability will be a major boost for Mapalastina who have struggled to find the back of the net since he travelled to South Africa after his last game in the semi finals. The irrepressible Ngele has scored in every match he has played for Rollers in this competition.

Meanwhile, 7,000 tickets have been printed for the titanic clash. The venue has a capacity of 8, 000. The tickets for the match cost P50 all round and have started selling at different outlets around the country. Botswana Premier League (BPL) general manager, Phuthego Setete told journalists at a media briefing in the capital yesterday that they expect the tickets to be sold out by Saturday. The tickets are on sale at ECCO City Greens' office in Francistown, Nike shop in Game City, Caltex Molepolole and Rollers' old office at the Main Mall. They will also be sold at the Consumer Fair at stalls One and Two owned by the Department of Sport and Recreation tomorrow and Saturday.  The match has attracted a lot of interest around the country. ECCO representatives yesterday confirmed that three combis are already fully booked from Francistown, adding that more are expected to transport soccer fans to the match.
