The Botswana Softball Association (BSA) expects an exciting and competitive season after securing a P120,000 sponsorship for the league. The league starts on August 15.

The competition has been without a sponsor for the past five years. However, Estates Construction Company has come to the BSA rescue by injecting P120,000 to finance the league. BSA spokesperson Kabelo Kwape said that with the money, they expect the league to be intense with financial reward as a motivation. He said the sponsorship should make clubs more professional so that the league runs smoothly. He said the sponsor should derive mileage from association with softball.

Kwape said it is only through professional conduct that the game will attract more sponsorship. He stated that time is ripe for softball to compare favourably with other sports.
