New deal to broadcast Premier League matches

State TV and radio stations are on the verge of signing a contract to broadcast be Mobile Premier League matches.

The stations and the Premier League Committee are said to be gearing to sign the contract before the end of this week or next week at the latest.

The deal involves live broadcasts by Btv and the two radio stations, RB1 and RB2. Btv has not been broadcasting local football matches for two years and recently they were not even allowed to record games for their news segments.  But yesterday, a relieved Btv head of sports, Edson Malebane told Mmegi Sport that they are very close to signing a broadcast deal.
