Ndoro suspended ahead of Police XI tie

Defending champions, BDF XI will go into their tricky second leg encounter against Police XI in the Mascom Top 8 quarterfinal tomorrow at SSKB Stadium without their number one goalkeeper, Takudzwa Ndoro.

The club suspended the Zimbabwean goalkeeper indefinitely effecting yesterday for indiscipline. Ndoro will remain suspended awaiting the conclusion of the investigations. He was instrumental when BDF XI won the competition last season, saving Gofaone Tiro’s penalty in the final during a shootout. He also helped BDF XI finish second in the league.

Matebele and Jungle Kings drew 2-2 in the first leg last week, setting up what is expected to be an enthralling spectacle. BDF XI will go into the match with a slight advantage, having scored two away goals in the first leg. However, Police XI have shown several times this season that they are an attacking side. It will be interesting to see how the two great minds, Elijah Chikwanda (BDF XI) and Maitumelo Lotlaamoreng of Police XI approach this game. However, having conceded two goals at home, Police XI have everything to play for and are likely to attack from the first whistle. Police XI know very well that a stalemate with less than two goals will send them out of the competition.
