Extension Gunners registered a narrow 1-0 victory against Boteti Young Fighters at the University of Botswana (UB) Stadium on Saturday. After more than an hour of play, the two teams were still tied 0-0 and it took individual brilliance from skipper Ofentse 'Schalkwyk' Mmipi to break the deadlock and shoot Gunners to victory.

he skilful Mmipi took the visitors by surprise in the 68th minute. He turned Kgakgamatso Pharo around before unleashing a curling shot which beat Boteti goalkeeper Chamunoruwa Madamobe hands down.

Both the goalkeeper and his defence seemed to have mistaken Mmipi's short for a cross and were caught completely off guard. Despite the defeat, Kenneth Mogae's side looked threatening on the attack and as early as the second minute, Gunners' young goalkeeper Ntungamile Tshoganetso found himself on the receiving end when Collen Nyambia fired from long range after connecting a cross from Patrick Tom on the left. Gunners' midfield kingpin Kemmy Pilato failed to open the score in the 21st minute after a free kick on the edge of the box.
