Namibian Coach Dissatisfied Despite Win

Namibian coach Jacqueline Shipanga was dissatisfied despite the fact that her charges beat hosts Botswana 3-0 in the first leg of the qualifiers for the African women championship.

She admitted that her side played badly though it registered a resounding win. She attributed the poor performance by both Botswana and Namibia to the fact that the match had to be replayed on Saturday after it was washed off by rain on Friday. Shipanga believes that players could not perform to the best of their ability on Saturday as they were still tired.

The players looked very tired and disorganised and Botswana lost despite creating many opportunities in the first half. Namibia scored through Leandu Lucas, Mangulukeni Hamata and Stephie Hummel.
