Namibia dominated the two-day COSASSA Youth Athletics Championships held in Gaborone at the UB Stadium over the weekend.

The hosts, Botswana's biggest let-down was their failure to field as many  athletes in as many events including long jump, hurdles, shot put, javelin, discus and girls' 3,000 meters. Botswana, who started on a low note, only got a lifeline when the boys (12-13) 4x100 relay won gold after a 48.40sec finish.

Thabo Motsagopame and Cukuri Xgaiga finished first and second in the 200 metres dash in 23.39sec and 24.25sec respectively. Julia Laban also did well for the hosts in the girls 200 metres race, finishing it in 27.90.
