Mwaanga soldiers on despite roller-coaster career

Born to a Motswana mother and a Zambian father, Mwaanga is now a naturalised citizen. He came to Botswana from Zambia in the 1990s, to play for Francistown side, TASC. He started coaching in the North after hanging up his boots.The highlight of his coaching career was when he elevated ECCO City to the Premier League. He started coaching ECCO while the team was still in the Second Division. Since then, ECCO has never been relegated and has become one of the most celebrated sides.
However, in an ironic twist, ECCO dismissed him when the team was doing relatively well. Mwaanga has since coached other local sides like the Palapye based Motlakase, Gaborone United, BDF XI and most recently, Township Rollers.When he was coaching Motlakase while the team was in the Premier League, Mwaanga was once again relieved of his job. Mwaanga was then appointed technical director, while Oris Radipotsane took over the coaching reins. Mwaanga knew that his days at Motlakase were numbered once he was deployed and never took over the new post.
