Mputu's price puts off Downs

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) club TP Mazembe have scared off Mamelodi Sundowns by putting a huge price tag on the head of their deadly striker, Tresor Mabi Mputu.

Sowetan has reliably learnt that Mazembe are demanding R14,1 million ( 1,5 million) for Mputu, who scored nine goals in six games between the first and third rounds of the current CAF Champions League.

 
After his team bombed out of the third round of the Champions League, Mputu has not taken his foot off the pedal and has bulged the net four times in the Confederations Cup, including twice against Sundowns.
