FRANCISTOWN: Former Orapa United midfield maestro, Patrick Motsepe has for the first time laid bare circumstances surrounding his forced retirement from competitive football in 2016.

Motsepe is now thriving in his career as Orapa United’s general manager.

When he quit football, Motsepe was playing for the Ostriches, having joined after an eight-year fruitful stint with BDF XI.  “We were doing routine medicals at the club ahead of the 2016/17 season. A doctor then told me that he had diagnosed me with a heart condition and that I would have to quit the game. He told me that I risked dying if I continued playing competitive football or training intensively,” Motsepe said.
