The village of Mankgodi will over the weekend play host to Gaborone Motor Club (GMC) round 6 of 6 and round 4 of 4, both being the Gaborone and Botswana National Championships respectively.

The event, co-sponsored by Peak Yamaha and Debonairs Pizza will start at 7:30 am on Saturday and end at 4:00 pm, with the prize giving ceremony scheduled for the Bull and Bush later on in the evening. It will be at the prize giving event where the 2014 GMC champion will be announced.

This is the last event of the year. The weekend race is combination of fast riding sweeping corners through river sands and some climbs through rocky terrains, as a result catering for all abilities and riding preferences. Monique Tyrer of GMC, which is by far the largest club, said between 30 and 50 riders are expected from places like Selibe Phikwe, Gaborone and quite a good number of riders from South Africa, who will bring the only female rider Taye Perry.
