Motor sport chief to visit Botswana

The president of the world motor sport governing body, Federation Internationale de I' Automobile (FIA) Jean Todt is scheduled to visit Botswana in August.

Botswana Motor Sport Association (BMSA) secretary general Joseph Khengere confirmed to Mmegi Sport yesterday that they have been in consultations with the FIA since affiliating to them earlier this year and the president will pay a visit to Botswana.

Khengere said Botswana stands to benefit much from Todt's visit because the country is new within FIA circles.He said Botswana had been considered as part of South Africa, but recently managed to secure its own FIA affiliation, hence the visit.
