The Northern Zone Netball League chairperson, Keene Tjikwakwa stated that Motlakase has written a letter informing them that they will not take part in the competition. She said Motlakase failed to honour their first league fixture in Francistown.

She said she received a letter from Motlakase secretary, Tshiamo Bodilenyane last week indicating that the club was pulling out. Initially, Motlakase had agreed to be part of the league and received the final draft of fixtures just before the season started. Tjikwakwa said the committee will amend fixtures in light of Motlakase's withdrawal. She, however, said despite the development, Motlakase will remain a Botswana Netball Association (BONA) affiliate.
