Morongwa junior chess series moves to Mahalapye

The Morongwa Security Junior Chess series moves to Mahalapye this weekend after a successful tour of Selebi-Phikwe and Serowe.

The Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) organised tournament is sponsored by Morongwa Security to the tune of P25,000.  BCF secretary general, Kelapile Kelatlhilwe said the tournament targets all junior schools in the country.

The top 30 who played in Serowe will also be in Mahalapye tomorrow. The mandate of these junior and senior schools tournament is to develop chess in schools. BCF is in the process of selecting players for continental competitions.  Kelatlhilwe said prizes are guaranteed for top players. The teams will consist of five players per team for both the boys and girls. The next event is the Thubo refrigeration masters tournament to be held in Shadishadi.
