Former 400m world champion, Amantle Montsho is favoured to be crowned sportsperson of the year for the fourth year running when the Botswana National Sorts Council (BNSC) holds its annual awards tomorrow.

Before going for the overall title, she must ward off the challenge of Boikhutso Mudongo from chess and karateka Thato Malunga in the race for sportswoman of the year diadem.

Despite the challengers, the track star’s achievement over the last year suggests she would walk away with the top prize. She topped her specialty in the IAAF Track and Field World Championships, won the Dakar Grand Prix and 15 Diamond League races. She is ranked number one in the world in the 400m.
