Montgomery unlocks Benjamin

The recent good form of second seed, Benjamin Lock was checked when he fell 7-5, 6-2 to sixth seed Wayne Montgomery of South Africa in a pulsating Under-18 quarter-final match at the ongoing Africa Junior Tennis Championships.

Lock had been invincible in the warm-up tournament, beating Montgomery in the final last Sunday, before powering into the quarter-finals in the championships proper.

He, however, found Montgomery uncompromising as the diminutive South African outclassed him with good shot selection. On a cloudy morning, Lock looked weary and conceded numerous unforced errors. Montgomery duly capitalised and punished the sloppy play.
