Mogae confident of better finish

Boteti Young Fighters' coach, Kenneth Mogae has conceded that finishing the first round of the be MOBLE Premier League at position eight has been disappointing for him and his team. He explained that the club wanted a better position midway through the season to show improvement from last season's record."By this time last season, we had accumulated 21 points but this time we have only 15.

We wanted to better last season's record. But unfortunately due to some reasons like injuries, we fell short of our last season's performance," he said. Boteti are in their second season in topflight football. In their maiden season, the Orapa side showed good character especially in the first round when they turned their Itekeng Stadium into a slaughter-house and shocked some giants away from home. It was only in the second round that Boteti started showing signs of fatigue and ultimately they finished 11th. This season the club has already lost four games at home. While many might have taken it as an advantage to play more games at home, Mogae believes his side might have suffered as a result of this.  "We played too many home games in succession and it was not good for the players. Players need to change locations every now and then, so that they can meet new challenges.

It is not good to play under the same environment for a long time because the players then tend to relax. The Police XI game was our sixth home game and frankly speaking, I saw the heavy loss coming, I was not surprised at all," he said.
