Moeng urges sports unity

The Minister of Youth, Sport and Culture, Moeng Pheto has urged all the sport stakeholders to continue to work together for improved results. Pheto said there is need for a holistic approach in preparing athletes for competitions. He was speaking at the official opening of the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday.

Pheto said it was through the close relationship and hard work by stakeholders that sport continues to scale the heights. He said that although there are a variety of factors that contribute to a better sports performance in Botswana, he attributed the recent success to the ability of administrators.

Pheto congratulated BNSC officials on a job well done. He said it is through their commitment that Botswana managed to bring home 15 medals at the just-ended All African Games (AAG) in Algeria. Pheto cited recent good performances by different sporting codes like the national football and rugby teams. "These good results are becoming too many for us to talk about.
