Mochudi Centre Chiefs' striker, Moemedi 'Jomo' Moatlhaping, is two goals away from breaking the best scoring record in a season in the Premier League's history, which is held by former Township Rollers' forward, Terrence Mandaza.

Moatlhaping scored four goals against relegated side, Black Peril, on Saturday to take his tally to 30. Mandaza scored 31 goals in the 2009-2010 season to lead Rollers to their 10th league title before he left to join South African side, Platinum Stars. Mandaza broke Master Masitara's record of 27 goals before setting a new record with 31 goals. But now the record is on the verge of being smashed as Moatlhaping scored two goals in his team's last league match against unpredictable Uniao Flamengo Santos to beat Mandaza's tally. Once written off as a spent force after an unsuccessful stint with Platinum Stars, Moatlhaping has made his critics eat humble pie.

His inclusion in the Zebras' squad was questioned, but Moatlhaping is now a key figure in coach Stanley Tshosane's side. Meanwhile, the fight for survival in the be MOBILE Premier League took another twist when Motlakase jumped from 15th to 13th position. This comes in the wake of a 3-0 victory over TAFIC on Saturday in Selebi-Phikwe. Motlakase's victory saw Miscellaneous drop to 15th after their 4-2 defeat by Police XI. TASC are 14th after their loss to Gaborone United (GU).
