Mochudi Centre Chiefs' enterprising midfielder, Oteng 'Limkonkwing' Moalosi has been named in the 25-man Zebras' squad expected to report for camp on January 3.

The Zebras are scheduled to play an international friendly against South Africa in Johannesburg on January 16. Moalosi has been outstanding for Chiefs since arriving from Police XI last year but so far his impressive show had never caught the attention of national team selectors. The dreadlocked midfielder has been on fire and helped the Kgatleng outfit to second position during last season. This season, he has scored four goals in the 13 games Chiefs have played.

His superb ball control and tactical awareness has been crucial in the Chiefs' midfield. His call-up to the national team is an early Christmas present but it remains to be seen whether he will play Bafana Bafana at Ellis Park. Chiefs' communications officer Clifford Mogomotsi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that Moalosi's call-up is long overdue. "We have been encouraging the young boy throughout because there was a time when he lost confidence thinking that he will never get a place in the senior team. We are grateful that finally, the national team selectors have included him in the team," said Mogomotsi.
