Miscellaneous weigh options in promotion bid

Miscellaneous chairperson, Steady Sethaba has said they will meet this week to decide the way forward in their bid to reverse the promotion of Jwaneng Comets to the be MOBILE Premier League.

He asserted yesterday that with only three days before the start of the 2009-2010 Premier League season, they can still go to court to seek justice. He said the limited time is not a factor as the courts can delay the start of the league if the club files an urgent application.

The First Division side wants to overturn a decision by the sports National Appeals Board (NAB) to declare Jwaneng Comets winners of the Premier League promotion play-offs. The play-offs ended in controversy after Comets beat Mogoditshane Fighters 12-1 to gain promotion on goal difference. Initially the play-offs organisers found that there was match-fixing in the 12-1 result and ordered Comets and Miscellaneous to play again to decide who qualifies for the Premier League. Comets successfully challenged the decision and gained promotion and Miscellaneous is now threatening court action.
