When was the last time that Serowe experienced this excitement?

There have been big weddings, official openings and many other merriments but nothing seems to compare in splendour with the new stupendous craze in the Bangwato capital. The last time the village was this collectively excited, some say, was when the late Sir Seretse Khama draped a leopard skin on his son Ian Khama as Bangwato Paramount Chief. That is a long time ago.

Today, Serowe is in a big celebratory mood again. This time the village is celebrating football. The village Premier club, Miscellaneous Football Club, has just attained what has always eluded Serowe teams - they have gained promotion to the elite be-Mobile Premier League. Football, as they say, is not just a way of life, it is life and this is the new life that Miscellaneous is breathing into the village.
