Minnows Shock Giants In First Division

Young Strikers walloped the more experienced Jwaneng Comets 3-0 at the Wonder Sporting Grounds in a First Division South League match on Saturday. By half time, the Broadhurst minnows were leading 2-0.

Strikers made its intention clear in the opening minutes of the game when it put the former Premier League side on the back-foot. The lightweights were confident on the ball, laid neat passes and displayed impressive skills.

It did not come as a surprise when Strikers scored the first goal in the 10th minute when the troublesome Nkwebi Letsholo finished off what was supposed to be a miss by one of his teammates. Ray Kwape missed what could have been the second goal for Strikers when he shot directly into the hands of the stranded Comets' goalkeeper, Katlego Kesekang. The Jwaneng side, fought hard for an equaliser that never came.  Strikers' goalkeeper, Mandla Bilo had a field day and handled everything that came his way very well.
