Midweek matches cannot be avoided if the be MOBILE Premier League is to finish in time, says Botswana Premier League Chief Executive Officer, Bennet Mamelodi.

The start of the new campaign has seen a flurry of midweek games, leaving teams crammed for space, but Mamelodi said the situation is unavoidable. He emphasised that the situation is not perculiar to Botswana as other countries in the region engage in midweek assignments.

He shot down concerns over poor gate takings for midweek matches, arguing clubs should do enough to market their matches. "The Rollers, ECCO game in Francistown recently attracted a very good crowd for a 4:00 pm kick-off. Where did those people come from? Clubs should do enough to market their games," Mamelodi said.
