Metropolitan chess finals starts on Friday

The 2012 Meteropolitan national chess championships starts on Friday to next week Monday at Yarona Country Lodge in Mogoditshane with 10 men and 10 women who finished top at 2nd Qualifers in Francistown.

The drawing of lots will be performed on Friday evening at Yarona Country Lodge( 6pm. Three times national champion  Providence Oatlhotse and another three times national champion FM Phemelo Kheto are early favourites.  Kheto  is the highest rated player in the tournament. 

The 2010 champion, Barileng Gaealafshwe is among the favorites in the tournament that also has talented youngster,  to Thabo Gumpo. Moakofi Notha , the All Africa Games silver medalist is also in the mix. Dragon Kesiilwe is a veteran whose passion for chess has been impressive through the decades.
