Maun Tigers in near upset

SEROWE: Struggling Maun Tigers nearly shocked third placed Green Lovers in the dying minutes when striker Kentse Phorano came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock in a match that ended 0-0 on Saturday.

Poor throughout the game with incompetent first touches, the marksman unleashed an 89th minute scorcher that Lovers goalkeeper parried back into play.  The rebound fell to him but once again, he could not find the back of the net in the dusty Serowe Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

The game failed to live up to its billing. Both sides are desperate for points with Tigers seeking to move out of the relegation zone while Lovers want to maintain their third position. The teams fielded their strongest squads in anticipation of collecting maximum points but the expected fireworks failed to materialise.
