Masunga hosts slugfest

FRANCISTOWN: Boxing stars are expected to descend on sleepy Masunga on Saturday for a slugfest that promises to drive villagers to the edge.

The Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) competitions manager, Phetogo Tsheko said the Interclub Boxing tournament would be held in the village for the first time since its inauguration in 2002. Boxers from the national team like Mmoloki Nogeng are expected to slug it out at the event.

Nogeng recently won a gold medal at the Zone VI championships in the 57kg category. He is regarded as the successor to Commonwealth Games silver medallist, Khumiso Ikgopoleng.
