Mascom Phikwe marathon sponsorship cut

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The sponsorship cost of the 27th edition of the annual Mascom Phikwe marathon which will be held on May 5, has been reduced from P320, 000 to P303,000, the organisers have said.

The marathon will be held earlier this time, as it is to be used as a qualifier for the Olympics, which take place in London in July.

A member of the organising committee, Ogomoditse Gaokgethelwe said that the sponsors Mascom, had informed them of the cut, citing an unfavourable financial position.
