Mascom increases Phikwe marathon sponsorship

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Mobile phone service provider, Mascom has donated P320,000 to sponsor the 26th edition of the annual Selebi-Phikwe marathon.

The company has increased the sponsorship from the P270,000 it gave last year. The marathon takes place this Saturday. The winners of both the men and women's categories in the 42.2km event will walk away with P25,000.

The winners of the 15km race will be awarded P5,000 and the runners-up will walk home with P2,500. Those who finish third will get P1,000. A member of the organising committee, Masego Masunga said the winners in the 4km fun run and the best school will get a floating trophy. She said that there will also be a category for veteran runners.
