FRANCISTOWN: Ricardo Marape is a man with a vision. He wants to see the Francistown region as a serious football talent reservoir and he is going about trying to attain his goal with apostolic zeal.

As it is September and the year 2011 is on the wane, he feels satisfied with the way things have gone so far, and hopefully by the end of the year, much more would have been achieved. As the Francistown Football Association (FRAFA) regional coach Marape is charged with identifying and developing talent.

Together with other FRAFA officials, they have come up with a Technical Plan, which they are adhering to like glue to paper. The plan has 10 tasks with target dates and persons responsible for each task. Last month, the regional technical team was visiting neighbouring villages like Tonota, Tati Siding, Borolong, Tsamaya, Sebina, and Mathangwane to preach the football message as well as to identify talent. Last month, the Francistown girls' team emerged national champions in Gaborone where they played regional champions.
