Mandaza attracts Maritzburg interest

Maritzburg United have expressed interest in Platinum Stars striker Terrence "Terror" Mandaza who arrived in Rustenburg with a huge reputation from Botswana but struggled to make any impression in the highly competitive Absa Premiership.

Zimbabwean Mandaza arrived at Platinum Stars at the start of the season after setting a blistering pace in the Botswana Premier League with Township Rollers having helped them win the league double with an amazing 42 goals in all competitions in a single season.

He had first been scouted by Orlando Pirates and even spent a fortnight in Parktown on trial with Dutchman Ruud Krol running the rule over him. But for some strange reasons, Krol was not immediately bought on his wares and Rollers owner Somerset Gobuiwang approached Platinum Stars who signed the player on the spot. "Mandaza is a real talent," said a source, "he has lots of potential and I don't think he is even aware of his massive potential.
