Man Utd clinch league title

Manchester United had to come from behind at Blackburn to earn a 1-1 draw and the one point needed to give them a record breaking 19th League title.

Blackburn took a first-half lead through Brett Emerton and it needed a controversial 73r-minute penalty to hand the title to the visitors. Nani had already hit the post for United but Martin Olsson also hit the woodwork for the home side.

Rovers' keeper Paul Robinson was adjudged to have brought down Javier Hernandez to the fury of the Blackburn players, but Wayne Rooney remained calm to convert the penalty. At the final whistle, there were wild scenes of joy on the pitch as the players and management celebrated winning the Premiership title. For Rovers, it means a nervous final game of the season as they look to avoid playing Championship football next season with both relegation candidates Blackpool and Wolves winning their games.
