Second-half substitute, David Makakaba came off the bench to score a remarkable hat-trick, which earned his side a deserved 3-2 win over BMC in the Mascom Premier League game played at the Lobatse Stadium on Saturday.

Makakaba replaced ineffective Lapologang Motlogi and soon his presence was felt when he opened the scoring in the 53rd minute with a beautiful header from a perfect cross by Obed Mokgosi. When the hosts were hoping to recover, Makakaba completed his brace when he slotted the ball past a bemused BMC goalkeeper Cosmos Lombala. But credit has to go to midfielder Betsho Pius who dispossessed BMC's Shepherd Mosekgwa in the midfield and released Makakaba with a telling pass. After the second goal, BMC deployed defender Tumisang Sekanonyana to mark Makakaba but the damage was already done.

Makakaba capped a brilliant performance with a third goal after being left unmarked inside the box. In an interview with Monitor Sport, Makakaba briefly said, "I do not know what to say. I am happy to have scored the goals."
