SELEBI-PHIKWE: Nico United has become the third club to lodge a protest over the eligibility of striker Kekaetswe 'Mara' Moloi to play for Mascom Premier League title favourites Mochudi Centre Chiefs.

Majombolo filed their protest soon after their 1-0 loss to Chiefs a fortnight ago. Other clubs that have protested that Moloi had left Chiefs and joined Gaborone United are Township Rollers and BMC.

Nico spokesman, Etlhomilwe Raditshego said yesterday that their protest is based on the fact that the player transferred twice in a season contrary to regulations. Chiefs fielded Moloi when the log leaders beat Nico. If Chiefs are found guilty, they are likely to be docked points for games in which the Under-23 player featured. Moloi is reported to have briefly transferred to GU in January before making a quick return to the log leaders.
