Mahalapye hosts first national BOPSSA games

The first national ball games take place in Mahalapye next month, the Botswana Primary School Sports Association (BOPSSA) has announced. Schools will compete in volleyball, football and netball where six regions will be represented.

Volleyball and football will have both boys and girls categories while netball will only be contested by girls. About 12 football and 12 volleyball teams are expected at the competition, while netball will have six teams.

Currently, the six regions are holding qualifiers for the national tournament. BOPSSA spokesperson, Edward Moreti, said preparations for the nationals are going on well. He said they decided to start with only three sports codes as they are a small organisation.
