Mochudi Centre Chiefs' spokesperson Clifford Mogomotsi has said they are excited by the prospect of playing South African Premier League side, Platinum Stars in a friendly game at the newly-built Moruleng Stadium in the North-West Province on Saturday.

The 20,000 seater stadium will be used as a training ground for the 2010 World Cup. The game between Chiefs and Stars is part of activities for the official opening of the facility on Saturday. "We are proud to have been invited to open the stadium. The game is important to us especially that the league has just started. It will help in improving our fitness. As you may be aware, the coach (Wilson Mondo) has just joined the team and this will give him a chance to assess the players. It will complete our pre-season preparations and help the coach to try new formations," said Mogomotsi.

"This game will foster our relationship with the South Africans especially Platinum Stars. I believe that we will learn a lot from Stars as they are coached by one of the renowed coaches in Steve Khompela. This game will give our players chance to shine because Khompela has been interested in one or two of our players in the past," said Mogomotsi.
