Mochudi Centre Chiefs moved to the next stage of the Kgatleng Independence Cup on Sunday after beating First Division side Modipane United 2-0.

Chiefs showed that they want to go all the way to win the cup as they fielded a full strength squad including new signings Tshepo 'Talk Talk' Motlhabankwe, Mpho 'Jomo' Mabogo and Thato 'Sister Bertina' Siska. Magosi would like to get back on track after they were knocked out of the lucrative Coca-Cola Cup two weeks ago.

The Chiefs' players struggled to convert clear chances as most of their shots went wide. It was a midfield duel as Modipane United fought with all they had to close down Chiefs' dangermen like Aron Kale and Pontsho Moloi. In the first half, Chiefs' players were too casual because they failed to convert easy chances. In the 37th minute, Motlhabankwe put Chiefs ahead with a brilliant goal after a good move by Kale from the left flank.
