LOBATSE: Mafolofolo attacker Gaoleseletse 'Lizzy' Gasekgonwe's last minute fight did wonders for her team as they brought Kutlwano's three-year dominance in women volleyball to an end beating them 3-1 in an electrifying BMW Capital Motors volleyball final on Saturday.

They won P10 000 while the runnersup got P6500.Gasekgonwe started the game unusually quite and her sudden come back seemed to create all sorts of problems for the opponents who had felt they were settling well in the game. Gasekgonwe was unstoppable, hitting one powerful spike after  the other. It was not suprising when she won two individual awards for best scorer and best attacker. The lanky Maunatlala born attacker, was undoubtedly enjoying her game, while 'Big house' ran out of ideas on how to stop her.

From the first set it was not clear who would emerge victorious at the end of the game as both teams put a determined effort.  Although Kutlwano won the first set things just did not work well for the 'Big house' in the second set looking jittery as the wheels came off. The ladies in black and white's other problem was net touching which they lost several points for. However, a mouth-watering battle started in the third set when Kutlwano looked set to fight with everything to defend their title. The two teams proved why they are the local giants of the women game when they displayed some of the finest volleyball skills.
