Mafolofolo finally travels to Egypt

After a period of uncertainty, it has been confirmed that Mafolofolo women's volleyball side will travel to Cairo, Egypt today to represent Zone VI in the Africa Club Championship.

The trip has been hanging in the balance because the club did not have enough funds. Mafolofolo needed P30,000 to supplement the P100,000 they got from the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) to finance the trip. The club has been saved by the Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) and other sponsors in time to make it to the tournament which takes place from April 28-May 2.

Last week Mafolofolo coach Kabo Ntshinogang expressed doubts whether the club would travel to Cairo though they were speaking to corporate sponsors to come to their rescue. They did only raise part of the P30,000 required to top up the available and luckily enough, the BVF saved the day by giving additional funds. BVF vice president (technical) Waboraro Mokgatla said they would meet Mafolofolo half way since they managed to raise part of the P30,000 they needed.
