MOGODITSHANE: Mafolofolo women's coach, Kabo Ntshinoganga, was an unhappy man after one of their opponents, Victory Seekers, failed to turn up for the match as the Mascom Volleyball League resumed at the weekend.

Ntshinogang was mainly disgusted that the organisers of the league did not inform them despite knowing about the developments. Mafolofolo was at the playing grounds as early as 8am but only played at noon against Kalavango in what was supposed to be their second game.

Ntshinogang said they just heard from the grapevine that Victory Seekers would not turn up for the game. He also complained that they were given fixtures late in the week only to discover that the other team would not pitch up after preparing so much under pressure. Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) vice president, Odisitse Keotsene, would not say why the team did not honour the fixture, referring enquiries to competitions organizer, Kagiso Meswele. But Meswele would also not provide any concrete answers, saying he has not been in touch with the game for some time. "We will find out as to what really happened," he said. Efforts to get a comment from the team were futile as team officials' phones just rang unanswered at the time of going to press. Meanwhile, Mafolofolo trounced Kalavango 3-0 in a lukewarm encounter. The game started on a high in the first set, promising to be a thriller only to lose momentum along the way.
