FRANCISTOWN: If he had his way, the First Division League would be stopped. China Mading, the former Township Rollers goalkeeper says the going is tough in this division, which has no financial backing from the corporate world unlike the Premier League. "I think in the long run, we are going to have to come together as clubs and stop this.

"There is too much money in the Premier League, for instance, but we have got nothing down here. Maybe they do not consider us an important component of football in this country," said Mading who is now the owner-coach of Selebi-Phikwe, the First Division outfit, FC Satmos which once campaigned in the Premier League. He laments that First Division clubs travel great distances to honour fixtures unlike their counterparts in the Premier League.

Today, Satmos travel more than 600km to play Ferry Wanderers of Kasane. Wanderers made the 700km journey to play Mahalapye Hotspurs last weekend. Mading said Satmos need at least P10,000 for transport, accommodation and food.
