FRANCISTOWN: Lobelo Racing Club (LRC) scooped the majority of the medals on Saturday at the national Motocross Championships held in Monarch Siding.

Gaborone Motor Club grabbed the second-highest number of medals. Some of the invited Zimbabwean riders failed to keep up with the tough competition. The juniors raced with 65cc motorbikes, the middle-aged used 85cc and the senior riders had 125cc machines. The junior category was contested by children between 9-11 years with 11-year-old Joshua Potts emerging victorious.

Nine-year-old Brady Armstrong was second after giving Potts a hard time with Ayush Hedge finishing third. The eight-year-old Hedge is still under the recruitment stage in racing but had a brilliant day riding his bike without any difficulties. In the 85cc, 13-year-old Gaborone Motor Club (GMC) rider, Douglas Morris, was first ahead of Lobelo rider Marc Sterling in the flat track and motorcross race.
