Local rugby faces league sponsorship challenge

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Lack of sponsorship for the local rugby league is affecting teams, as there are no financial incentives.

The league has been running without a sponsor for a couple of years now. BRU president, Bob Lekan said that they are actively involved in the sport for the love of the game, despite the fact that there aren't enough resources to fully develop the players.

He concernedly noted that some clubs struggle to secure a kit and other equipment as they cannot afford them.
