Liquor laws threaten soccer fan base

The recent restrictions on entertainment and liquor selling hours might have adverse effects on the Mascom Premier League.

Since the new regulations on entertainment and liquor selling hours came into force on April 1, fans have been barred from entering stadiums with beer. 

Previously, supporters used to watch games at the stadium while drinking alcohol mainly from cans. This means that they could do two things at the same time. Instead of going to bars, they preferred the stadium where they could drink and watch their favourite teams. Now it is feared the new laws will result in less supporters attending matches because many will be in bars.
