Left-handed Molatlhegi defies golf odds

Left-handed golfers are a rare breed the world over as most of the equipment in the game is suited for right-handed people. But Minkie Molatlhegi has defied the odds and set herself up as one of the most successful female golfers in the country.

This year, the talented lefty has won four major Botswana Ladies' Golf Union (BLGU) tournaments, hitting the ball from what many would consider the wrong side. She won the Botswana Ladies Open, the Makgadikgadi Open, Independence Trophy and the Botswana Ladies Closed last weekend in Sowa.

"I am left handed and I feel very special because all female golfers in our country are right handed except one lady," she says.
