The recommencement of the be MOBILE Premier League has been moved up from this weekend.

A later date may be approved by the board of governors when they meet tomorrow ( January 12). The league was scheduled to resume this weekend, but had to be moved to allow the national team to play their friendly match against Angola in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday. Botswana Premier League chief executive officer, Bennet Mamelodi confirmed the postponement saying the board will deliberate on the issue on Saturday. An early start had been planned to allow the league to end in May, considering the continental club competitions in which Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Gaborone United are engaged.

"People must remember that constitutionally we have to finish in May; we have the Mascom Top Eight and two teams playing in the continent. We don't know how far they will progress, but the further they go, good for the country, but it means they will be behind with games," Mamelodi told Mmegi Sport.
